19-year-old I-Pop talent Raman releases “Dekho Na”

Mumbai, 25^th October 2024: “Dekho Na” by Raman is a poignant song that invites the girl he loves into a dreamy realm meant for just the two of them. However, he grapples with the distance that exists between them, urging her to trust him with her heart, as she’s the only one he truly sees. Blending Hindi and English, the song portrays a scenario in which the narrator asks his partner not to judge him and expresses a longing to create a shared world where they can fully immerse themselves in each other. He reassures her to let go of any doubts about their relationship and embrace the connection they share.

At just 19, Raman is already a skilled composer and performer, a talent evident in his work. He began creating music extensively during the lockdown and has since emerged as a rising star in the Indian pop scene. With his captivating presence, he sparks curiosity when he sings. Raman dedicated considerable time to perfecting the sound and lyrics of “Dekho Na,” making it one of his most meticulously crafted releases.

This I-pop/R&B track is co-produced by another talented Molfa artist, Aman Sagar, with contributions from A&R – Raghav Meattle from first.wav & Chintan Chauhan from Molfa. Written by Samad Khan and Raman himself, the track pushes Raman into new creative territories, introducing a fresh, exploratory sound to his discography through the use of foundations from RnB and his enchanting voice in Dekho Na.

“This song is a transition to a new sound I’ve been exploring, it’s a step towards something bigger”, says Raman.

“Artists are always in some stage of metamorphosis. We’re incredibly excited about what’s coming from Raman. We always encourage our artists to push the boundaries of their imagination and find ways of reflecting themselves honestly in their work. The music video has a fairytale-sequel twist to a Marathi lore. The Inclusion of Bhagyashree, a popular Marathi actress further enhanced the aesthetics of the video, making it more appealing and compelling.

The director of the music video Yuvarajaago added, “The song’s lyrics were about being seen a certain way as desired by your crush or significant other. Its a feeling that’s relatable to most of our generation. The music video, for me, was an opportunity to try something fresh with certain twists that would give the song more depth”.

While Dekho Na stands as a powerful single on its own, it hints at a broader narrative that will unfold in Raman’s future projects. Fans of his previous work, such as Too Dazed, will notice a shift towards a more fictional-dark and cinematic storytelling style. With lyrical themes that resonate on a deeply emotional level and a sound that pushes genre boundaries, ‘Dekho Na’ leaves a lasting impression on listeners.
