Out today, this new track promises to be a sing along with the perfect combination of melancholic lyrics and groovy pop beats
Mumbai, January 20th, 2023: Acclaimed singer-songwriter Nikhil D’Souza releases his new single ‘Socho’ – a song about the inner turmoil and introspection you go through when you’re trying to understand why every relationship, though seemingly promising at the start, inevitably breaks down in the end.
After huge success from his last release, ‘Mausam hai pyaar’ the title track from Modern Love Mumbai, Nikhil gets a bit upbeat with ‘Socho’. Produced by Aditya Ashok with lyrics from longtime collaborator Pinky Poonawala, this new track will make you groove while taking you through your own inner journey with deep sing along lyrics.

Talking about his music and this new release, Nikhil D’souza said, “This year will see a whole lot of new music from me. At a time when indie music from the country is making world waves, I will continue to play my part to further this. With Socho I have pushed my comfort zone and refreshed my sound a bit adding a layer of pop beats that makes this track melancholic and groovy at the same time”.
‘Socho’ is about the choice one makes to be alone rather than risk the chance of being with someone new. It talks about the bits that hold you back from committing to someone new given that you haven’t healed from the previous one. And despite fears you give it a try, only to see it break down again in a pattern that’s all too familiar.
Nikhil has been strumming the guitar and singing ever since he was 12. And after playing for several bands, he rose to fame singing the iconic songs ‘Shaam’ and ‘Mere Bina’ from the movies Aisha and Crook back in 2010. Over the last decade, Nikhil has sung several hit Bollywood tracks and more importantly, has enjoyed a successful independent song-writing career. He has collaborated with many international producers and songwriters and was signed to East West Records, a label owned by Warner Music UK. Nikhil has performed across India and abroad including the iconic London Palladium, singing with the BBC Concert Orchestra for their Simon & Garfunkel tribute. His 2020 EP, ‘Waqt’ was ranked #1 EP by Rolling Stone magazine, India. Nikhil has several of his independent songs synced across OTT shows, latest being ‘Mausam hai pyaar’ title track for the Amazon Prime hit series Modern Love – Mumbai.
