Mumbai, 8th May 2024: Goa-based Neo-soul/funk unit Pink Moss, have recently dropped their single – ‘Xathor’ – showcasing a never-before-heard fusion of neo-soul with the rich textures of the Assamese language.
Meaning ‘riddle’ in Assamese, ‘Xathor’ kicks off a three-part series of singles set to captivate audiences throughout April and May, solidifying Pink Moss’ reputation as a trailblazer in the indie music realm.

Fronted by the multitalented 28-year-old bilingual singer/songwriter/producer/DJ Sampriti Dastidar, the band features stalwarts from the independent music scene, including bass player Souvik Bhattacharya, and guitarist Subid Khan, both famous for their work with the Many Roots Ensemble, as well as Goa Jazz Academy’s Siddharth Rajmohan on drums. Since their inception during the pandemic, Pink Moss has garnered a dedicated following, injecting much-needed vitality and originality into the scene with their innovative fusion of neo-soul, RnB, and Afro-Pop, coupled with bilingual lyrics.
Hot on the heels of the recent amapiano release ‘DJANNA’ featuring rapper Irfana Hameed, ‘Xathor’ marks Sampriti’s fourth release this year alone. Renowned for her adeptness in incorporating multiple languages into her songwriting and blending them with contemporary urban soundscapes, her venture into production promises an exciting array of future releases.
