How did “Rehle Mere Kol” come about? Tell us about your collaboration experience with Aditya Rikhari?

“Rehle Mere Kol” came to life in 2024 during a late-night session with Hiten. We wrote, composed, and created the music together, vibing until 4:30–5:00 AM that night. The energy was infectious, and we were completely immersed in bringing the song to life.

When I shared it with my team at Sony Music, they loved it and immediately said we should move forward with it. While brainstorming ideas for the video concept, someone from the team suggested bringing Aditya Rikhari on board. The idea instantly resonated with me I’ve always admired his unique tone, and I felt he could add a fresh dimension to the track.

When we reached out, Aditya was incredibly cooperative and enthusiastic about the project.

He got fully on board and delivered his part within just 48 hours. The creativity and energy he brought elevated the song even further. That’s how “Rehle Mere Kol” came to be a collaborative effort that truly captured the vibe we envisioned.

What makes “Rehle Mere Kol” special for you?

“Rehle Mere Kol” is incredibly special to me for so many reasons. It was written from a deeply honest place, capturing the raw emotions of love and longing. It’s about that unique connection with someone who can heal your wounds in ways words can’t describe unsaid conversations that only exist between two souls deeply intertwined. The song reflects the desire for your lover to stay close, the longing for more love, affection, and intimacy. That’s the essence of the track the beauty of love and the vulnerability it brings. The entire process of creating this song, from writing and composing to Aditya Rikhari coming on board and shooting the video, was so seamless. Everyone involved brought such effortless energy to the project, and that effortlessness gave the song its own unique charm and authenticity.

Being signed for a year, how has your journey been so far with Sony Music India?

With Sony Music, the journey has been transformative for me and the entire team. Over this time, we’ve grown and evolved together, navigating countless discussions and meetings sometimes agreeing, sometimes disagreeing but always finding common ground in the end. The process of creating Rehle Mere Kol was a testament to how far we’ve come as a team. Everyone brought their honest efforts, united by a shared vision we’ve collectively nurtured. Now, we’re focused on expanding that vision, growing it into something even bigger. Of course, when a team is involved, disagreements are inevitable. But what truly matters is how you navigate those differences, working through them with mutual respect while staying aligned with shared principles and ideologies. That’s the beauty of this journey—the evolution of a team, the collaboration, and the sense of purpose. And the best part? It’s only getting better from here.

How has life changed for you after “Aayi Nai”?

After Aayi Nai, one thing I’ve truly appreciated about Bollywood is its incredible mass reach and the instant recognition it brings. When people introduce me as the voice of Aayi Nai, it’s clear that the song has already started to resonate with them, and in turn, they’re beginning to recognize me.

With the success of Aje Na Jaa, my name is now being associated with these hits, and that’s creating a beautiful bridge for me to connect with a wider audience. It’s opening doors for my listeners to discover and embrace my independent music as well. Aayi Nai has not only given me mass reach but also served as a meaningful connection to the audience I want to grow with.

With 2025 starting off with a bang, how does the rest of the year look for you?

The year 2025 is shaping up to be one where we’ll be launching some groundbreaking projects—things the independent space hasn’t seen before. There will be exciting collaborations, but at the heart of it all, the essence of being an artist is to create great music. I’m someone who would never compromise on the quality of that music because that’s where my roots lie. In terms of music, we’re diving into so much experimentation, blending different cultures and sounds in ways that feel fresh and unique. I already have a lineup of releases in the works most of the drafts are ready, some have been produced, and others are in post-production. So, 2025 is already off to an amazing start, and there’s no doubt it’s only going to keep climbing from here.

What are 3 things that you wish to improve on in 2025?

Three things I wish to Improve in 2025 are:

  1. Upgrade the kind of sound that I’ve been because it is a constant want of becoming better at it.
  2. I want to practice some control on mental thoughts so that I can be more focused.
  3. I am aggressively working on my live performances to only make sure that it becomes an experience of a kind for the audiences

Any additional comment?

I truly hope that for myself and all artists, we never lose sight of why we started in the first place. It’s so important to stay connected to your roots, and that’s been my guiding principle since I began creating and releasing music. This is something I strive to reflect not just in my music but in every conversation or interview I do across different platforms. I often say this, like a tree, we must remain grounded, rooted, and strong, no matter what storms come our way. It’s through staying rooted that true growth happens. I believe this is something every artist should always hold onto and remember.

Well, the start is great and with the kind of rooted thoughts as well as experimental approach Simran is vying for, sky is the limit for her. We will be closely observing her journey, so should you. Till then, put her song in your playlist, you will have a blast for sure!
