Raghu Dixit releases ‘Shakkarpari’ from his upcoming album ‘Shakkar’

Mumbai, 11^th June 2024: Renowned music artist Raghu Dixit, known for his captivating blend of Indie and film music, has delighted fans worldwide with the release of the first single “Shakkarpari” from his much-anticipated album “Shakkar”. The track, available in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu, is poised to be a resounding success and has already begun capturing hearts across diverse audiences. The track is called Shakkarpari in Hindi, Sakkare Chakori in Kannada, Sakkarakaari in Tamil, Chakkera Pilla in Telugu.

Speaking about the single Shakkarpari he says ” Shakkarpari: Shakkarpari is about a girl who steals sugar from the market only to distribute it to people who have never tasted sweetness. Sugar is a metaphor for happiness and to share one’s happiness will only make one’s own happiness to multiply. It’s about being kind, compassionate and considerate towards people who are facing challenges in their lives. The idea to write a song about Shakkarpari came from my therapy sessions. While I was dealing with my own life’s challenges and darkness, my therapist suggested that I meet people who are less fortunate. I was encouraged to commit myself to do at least one good deed a day to an absolute stranger. While I tried to put this into practice, I saw that I was slowly coming out of my own darkness, smiling more and generally almost always happy. Similarly, there were so many people, often strangers, who walked into my life and helped me get through difficult phases of my life”.

He also adds “Shakkarpari has the multiple Grammy winning banjo legend from Nashville, USA, Bela Fleck featuring on the track. It’s a huge blessing for me personally that he so generously came on aboard and sprinkled his magic all over the song! Neeraj Rajawat, my lyricist-friend, then took this idea and wrote the incredible poetry this song has! Phir se jeene ki aas jagaake, Shakkarpari chali Shakkar churaake!”
