Vasuda Sharma keeps coming out with something unique, something relatable. Yet again, with two songs releasing back to back, she is all set to capture audience’s attention and love. We had a brief chat with her about upcoming twin releases, here’s what she has to say.
‘Manwa Bhaagey’ is set to be released on 3rd August. Can you give us a backdrop on the song, what inspired you to create this track?
‘Manwa Bhaagey” takes us on a nostalgic journey back to our carefree days where innocence and wonder filled our hearts. It paints a vivid picture of relishing the joy of childhood, where imagination ran wild, and every day was an adventure.
I went through a phase when I had a strong desire to revisit and cherish precious moments of my childhood. I had a heartfelt chat with my mother reminiscing about my childhood days. There was a sense of longing for simpler times, and still is. She helped me pen down those outpouring emotions that eventually turned into a song.

As a singer songwriter, what kind of developments you are seeing happening across the industry?
Over the last few years, I have noticed advancements in music production technology, high quality music can be produced from home studio setups. One doesn’t have to shell out a lot of money for booking a studio to record, mix and master a song. Social media platforms have continued to play a significant role in promoting music and connecting with your fans. A lot of collaborations are in the works which are enriching the quality of music. There are a lot more music licensing and syncing opportunities in films, commercials and OTT platforms providing independent artists with potential revenue streams.
Tell us more about Song Nest, what is the direction you would want to take with this newly launched label?
I am thrilled to have launched my own indie music label ‘Song Nest’ that will soon be the playground for new collaborations and aspiring artists to release their songs.
‘Song Nest’ will aim to promote artistic freedom and creativity while helping artists navigate the music industry independently. The idea is to also foster a sense of community among the artists and prioritize building meaningful connection with the listeners.
‘SATB – Kataar Mein’ will be your second release. How do you choose a song for solo vs a song with your band?
As a writer and producer of the song, I have a certain artistic vision and an intended mood I want to create for the song. A lot of things are key factors in deciding that. The theme, lyrics, the genre I want to create it in. The ultimate goal is to enhance the song’s overall impact and resonance with the audience.’Kataar Mein’ is a high energy rock n’ roll song, a result of a collaborative process where each band member contributes his/her unique skill and ideas resulting in a more dynamic output.
Tell us a bit more about this song
‘Kataar Mein’ by ‘Sharma & The Besharams” is a satirical song that humorously reflects on the never -ending experience of standing and waiting in queues throughout our lives. It serves as a lighthearted commentary on the repetitive nature of human existence.
I noticed that waiting in lines is something that almost everyone encounters throughout their lives, whether it’s waiting for opportunities, relationships, achievements, or simply going through the daily routines. The idea was to write something relatable highlighting the shared struggles and experiences humans go through whether physical or metaphorical.
What are your plans for the rest of 2023?
I have a few wonderful collaborations in the pipeline as well. I am excited about working on a song with Akanksha Sethi, a promising singer-songwriter with a velvet voice. Apart from that I am writing some songs for ‘Sharma & The Besharams’ and producing some music for a few indie artists.
